Volunteer: Few things bring me more joy than constituents acting against their shitty elected officials.
When Floridians volunteer with Bridge to Hope, they help families in crisis access nutritious food and personal hygiene products to stay afloat during periods of instability. (go)Learn: Border crossing anxiety — it’s for everybody now!
Keep this handy EFF Border Search Guide on you for when you’re returning from literally anywhere else. (go)Learn: Dark money funding disinformation and community opposition to clean energy? So fun.
This new tool turns skeptics into supporters. Heatmap Pro arms you with data on contested projects and local dynamics so you can get those turbines spinning and out of paperwork purgatory. (go)

Be Heard: I’m not going to cite all the reports and estimates about how many lives will be affected or lost from the foreign aid cuts. You get it. It’s a lot. A lot.
And I know you get it, because you guys have been using our script — co-developed with our friends at TB Fighters — to call the hell out of your reps about reversing the cuts. Keep it up. (go)Be Heard: The (checks notes) bipartisan Scientific Integrity Act could safeguard what’s left of the federal science apparatus from bullshit political interference. Keep calling. (go)
Learn: Perspective is everything, especially when there are so many excellent women working in/around AI ethics. You can follow all or some of them with these handy lists! (go)

WE HAVE A NEW LEADER!
Learn: Turns out when hundreds of thousands of awesome scientists, support staff, humanitarians, etc. get fired and/or defunded, “Learn about meaningful careers” becomes the top search on the entire app. (go)

Get Help: Lord knows we all need it sometimes, but asking for it can be easier said than done. Find resources for when you’re in crisis (harm reduction programs, disaster distress helplines, recovery support, whatever you need) with resources from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (go)
Get Funded: Government grants may have disappeared but there are a plethora of other financing options for communities and companies working on climate solutions, like Climate Finance Solutions (go)
Teach: NOVA has resources for teachers looking for activities to help their students understand health sciences, from anatomy and physiology to medicine and public health (go)

Thanks for reading and thanks for taking action.
Busy AF: you can save actions for later with an WCID profile!
Thank you as always for giving a shit.
