Happy Wednesday, Shit Givers.
Turns out! Fantasy baseball teams aren’t really the distraction you’re looking for when you’re in last place. So fun.
Feature update! Your WCID profile just got a lil’ glow up (with much more to come). Now you can use whatever name you use in public, not just the one tied to your verified ID. Update yours now!
Let’s go!

Volunteer or Donate: Back on My Feet has been breaking cycles of poverty and addiction across the country since 2007. Working with people experiencing homelessness or addiction who reside within shelters and recovery facilities, they run and walk 2-3 times a week to build a sense of community and responsibility. So cool! (go)
Volunteer: Volunteers of America (VOA, if you know) is one of America's largest human services organizations, dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential. Volunteer with a local affiliate to build affordable housing or provide meals! (go)
Verb: Habitat for Humanity is where my kids donate every year and beg to volunteer (they are too young and entirely too dangerous).
Jimmy Carter’s favorite org works in all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries, and has helped more than 62 million people achieve strength, stability and independence through safe, decent and affordable shelter.
Find an opportunity near you, or travel and build! (go)

Learn: Understand your rights to digital privacy using the Border Search Pocket Guide from the Electronic Frontier Foundation. What a totally normal and fun time to be alive! (go)
Be Heard: Contact your Energy Minister (or whatever version of that is relevant in your country) and let them know that you think energy data should be open for researchers to make progress on climate change and for energy security (go)
Buy: Secondhand clothes from across the web, all in one convenient place using the Gem app. Boom. A new, more sustainable wardrobe without having to leave your couch or being accosted by the terrible lighting in changing rooms (go)
Donate: The Transgender Law Center is fighting to keep the transgender community safe as their rights are continuously under attack. Support their work making sure all people can live free from discrimination (go)
Together with Mill
Mill works while you sleep.
Mill’s a fit for anyone who’s got too much to do, and not enough time to do it all (hi, it’s me).
Less trash means fewer chores — fewer trips to take out the trash, no cleaning out rotting food gunk from your trash bins, no dealing with compost management (unless you want to!).
Mill makes you feel good. Because you’re not putting garbage into the world. Because your home smells clean (!).
Because you’re not wasting food — or time.

Learn about meaningful careers because we only get this one wild and precious life so why not spend our time doing something that really matters (go)
Learn about public transportation because driving a car is a nightmare! Traffic? Finding a parking spot? Road rage? Gross. Let’s make public transit as efficient and reliable as possible (go)
Learn about data privacy and protect your data from cybersecurity threats and/or data brokers selling it for profit without your knowledge or consent (go)
Get funded for clean energy so your business can reduce risk and accomplish ESG goals or so your community can build a more sustainable, resilient, and diverse economy (go)

Learn how you can improve the indoor air quality, health and accessibility of your next event by requesting an air purifier from the Clean Air Club (go)
Donate to the Alliance for a Green Africa, an African-led organization improving food security by supporting smallholder farms so they can prosper economically, build resilience, and grow more sustainably (go)
Donate or volunteer to reduce food waste and hunger with Forgotten Harvest by diverting fresh, healthy food from the landfill and making sure it ends up on people’s plates (go)

Did anyone else see Sinners or (similarly themed!) the Pride and Prejudice 20th anniversary re-release this weekend? Or both? (insert hand flex)
Everything is a lot — don’t forget to take a breather from unf**king the world to support your local cinema!
And remember — you can save actions for later with a WCID profile!
Thank you, as always, for giving a shit.
